Deborah Kerbel
Deborah Kerbel is the award-winning author of more than thirty books for young people. From graphic novels to non-fiction, picture books to middle grade, and YA to wordless, her work has been honoured with the Forest of Reading Yellow Cedar Award, the IODE Jean Throop Book Award, and both the Red Cedar Fiction and Non-Fiction Award. Her books have been translated into French, Korean, Turkish, German, and Standard Chinese. Born in a future police station in London, England and raised in the suburbs of Toronto, Deborah currently lives and writes in Thornhill, Ontario with her family.

Lynn Leitch is a freelance writer, a weekend runner, and the author of several books for children. Lynn grew up in Vancouver, British Columbia, where she fell in love with reading and playing sports in the rain. Having since lived in Halifax, Ottawa, and Toronto, Lynn settled in Burlington, Ontario, where she lives with her favourite humans and animals.

Shari Becker is an award-winning author of picture books and novels for young readers, including Sprouting Wings: The True Story of James Herman Banning, which she co-authored, and Taking Turns With Turtles: A Rescue Story. Her books have been recognized as Junior Library Guild Selections, a Bank Street Best Book Outstanding Merit, and a Children’s Book Council Notable Studies Book for Young People. Shari is the founder of Whale Rock Literary Workshops and has created original content for Nickelodeon and Disney-owned properties. Originally from Montreal, she now lives in Toronto with her family and dog.

Taking Turns With Turtles: A Rescue Story
HOW MANY PEOPLE DOES IT TAKE TO RESCUE A TURTLE?
One chilly morning in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, a child and their parents wake up early to search the beach for cold-stunned turtles. When they find one, they keep it warm and safe until another rescuer can bring it to a rehabilitation center. From there, more volunteers and scientists work together to help the turtle recover. A volunteer pilot even flies the turtle south to a warmer beach. At last, a parent and child place the turtle in the ocean and watch it swim away as a crowd of cheering volunteers look on.
Includes back matter with information about different turtle species, how turtles become cold-stunned and how to help them.
